Australia-Israel Scholar Seminars

Seminar

Mission: The Australia-Israel scholar seminar series showcases Israeli academics and some Australian counterparts to exchange knowledge and foster research collaboration between Israel and Australia. As always, international collaboration is vital for advancing knowledge, addressing global challenges, and fostering cooperation and understanding among researchers and institutions worldwide. In the case of this series, the focus is on strengthening ties between Israeli scholars and Australian institutions, through a series of accessible short talks.

Seminars: The nature of the seminars is geared towards a broad audience with the purpose of enlightening students and researchers on any topic in the sciences, technology, or humanities. Seminars are held every Tuesday and Thursday at 4 pm AEST in Australia and 9 am in Israel. The seminar duration is 15 to 20 mins in English, followed by a moderated question and answer session. It is important to keep politics out of the series and focus on the science and scholarly work.

In Australia: The Australian student and research community attends one or more physical rooms and views the seminar at their university or research institution (currently only at The University of Queensland, UQ). In certain cases seminars are recorded and shared on our YouTube Channel.

Seminars are hosted at The University of Queensland and from time to time also at Victoria University. Learn how to host the seminar in a room at your Australian university by contacting the organizers, Jo Savill or Yoni Nazarathy.

Here is the Zoom Link. Please contact the organizers for the passcode.

The series is currently paused. Please contact the organizers if you wish to be scheduled to present a talk.
